Do you remember the first time you caught a fish? The joy is unmistakable. Join us on a river trip to remember and renew that youthful feeling – or to truly immerse yourself in an activity you’ve continued to cherish.

One of the greatest highlights of a Hells Canyon Raft Trip is the world-class fishing. Here are some of our favorite reasons why:

The Snake River Is One of the Best Fisheries in the Northwest U.S. If you give it a try, you will catch a fish – period. The smallmouth bass and trout fishing is prolific, and a dedicated angler can catch as many as 80+ fish a day on the Snake River (yes, you read that right!) Our rafting trips through Hells Canyon offer opportunities to fish all day long: from the boat, from shore, at lunch and at camp. The Salmon River offers plenty of reward as well; the water is warmer and while the fish are not quite as thick as in Hells Canyon, you can easily catch 20+ fish a day on a Salmon River rafting trip.

We Provide The Gear-  All you need is a desire to fish! We provide, pack and carry all the gear you need. If you’re a first-timer, our guides will show you the way. Our spin-cast rod and reel setups are simple to learn and use, so no experience or skill is needed. But even the most avid and experienced fishermen will take great pleasure in these Idaho waterways.

Dinner’s On – If You Catch It!  Most of the time we catch and release our bounty, but at least once or twice during your trip we’ll cook up some smallmouth bass for your culinary pleasure. There are few things more rewarding than getting to eat what you caught by hand.

You Can Cast for Giants. You can also fish for Sturgeon, the largest freshwater fish in North America. These monsters of the Snake River can grow up to 12 feet long and 400 lbs. You’ll use deep sea fishing rigs with 80 lb. test line and trolling rods (this gear all provided by us too). Because Hells Canyon is a catch and release fishery, there is an abundance of oversize Sturgeon. These guys will give you the fight of your life and a reward like none other.

The only thing you need to participate in all this fun is a fishing license. You can buy an Idaho fishing license online if you purchase 2 weeks ahead or you can buy it in person the night before our trip. The cost is about $50 for 5 days and about half that for kids 14-17. Under age 14 is free as long as they are with an adult that purchased a license. Even if you don’t think you’re going to fish, we highly recommend you purchase a license because, well…we’re pretty sure you’ll change your mind.

You may choose to do a Hells Canyon raft trip on the Snake River or a Salmon River rafting trip because of the breathtaking scenery, the abundant whitewater, or to connect with your family under the stars, but the fishing is a delightful bonus. Let us guide you on your angling adventure and you’ll go home feeling relaxed, tuned into nature, and renewed. And with a good dose of that youthful joy too.
