When is the last time you went on a camping trip and had:

  • A gourmet dinner, wine and appetizers cooked and served for you?
  • Your tent set up for you?
  • A cooler of cold drinks at the ready that you did not have to pack or shop for?
  • Time to relax and play without thinking about all the things that had to be done?

If the answer is never, you must join us on a Hells Canyon Raft trip. It’s time to start living the good life.

A multi-day, overnight whitewater rafting trip with HCR is no bare-bones camping trip. Just because we’re traveling down a deep river canyon from one white, sandy beach to the next, doesn’t mean you can’t have some very comfortable amenities.

A trip with Hells Canyon Raft is a guided, service-oriented, outdoor adventure that allows you to unplug and truly get away. It is an immersive, nature-based trip that also provides lots of comfortable “extras.”

Here are a few highlights:

Your Gear Boat Leads the Way – And Does The Work

Much of our gear, such as our “kitchen” and camp setup, gets loaded on a gear boat each day. This leaves plenty of room for you on the passenger boats. The gear boat goes ahead of the group to our next camp and has things ready and waiting for you when you arrive. Your tents will be set up, the kitchen is ready for dinner prep, and drinks and snacks are available immediately.

Delicious, Gourmet Meals – That You Don’t Have To Make

Doesn’t food just taste better when someone else makes it for you? When you get three meals a day planned and cooked for you and endless snacks, it feels like you’ve hit the jackpot.

This may be a “camping” trip but there are no beans and hot dogs in sight – unless requested by the kids, of course! Your trip menu is thoughtfully prepared and will never leave you wanting.

We pride ourselves on including tons of fresh and locally-grown fruits and veggies and made-from-scratch dishes. We’ve spent years perfecting these recipes so you can enjoy every bite.

Your evening meal starts with a happy hour of wine or cocktail of your choice and delectable hors d’oeuvres. You’ll have tables with tablecloths and chairs. Your chef guides even dress for dinner each night (this might result in some wacky outfits, but we promise you’ll enjoy it).

Your guides rise early and assure the coffee is on before you’re awake. A full and hearty breakfast will be cooked from scratch and ready to fuel you up for the day.

Lunch is served riverside and includes more delicious fare – you won’t believe how quickly your trusty guides set up cooking and serving tables and whip up a beautiful spread.

Sunny days on the river call for refreshing drinks. Coolers and ice with cold beverages are always within reach and open to you while at camp and on the boat. Help yourself!

A Comfy Spot to Call Home

The thought of camping can evoke memories of lying uncomfortably on the ground, maybe a few rocks under you keeping you awake, feeling sore when you wake up?

Not on our trips.

Our thick camping mattresses will provide you a comfy night’s sleep to the sound of the rushing river. We provide 4-person tents for every two people, leaving you plenty of room to spread out. When you arrive at camp in the afternoon, your tent will already be set up for you.

After a day in the sun and an evening under a billion stars, there is nothing better than laying your head down in your riverside home.

The Loo With A View

The question on everyone’s minds – how and where do I use the bathroom? We take our pooping seriously around here, and your experience will be comfortable and private. With our bathroom setup, you get all the luxuries of home with one of the best views in the world.

On the river, the toilet is called the “Groover.” That name dates back to early river trips where folks used a 20 MIL ammo can or rocket box and they would sit right on the hard, metal edges, which left grooves in your backside.

Don’t worry, we’ve come a long way since then. You’ll sit on a regular toilet seat and have all the privacy of home, since we set up a high-walled, open-top tent around the Groover. It’s in a well-marked spot away from camp, and there is a hand-washing station waiting for you afterwards. We even have a “key” you take with you, so you know if the bathroom is occupied.

With the majestic canyon walls to look up to, you won’t want to go back to doing your business indoors.
