Guest Transport Driver

Job Type: Seasonal Full Time (May-October)

Pay: $26/hr. base pay (CDL with passenger endorsement required)

Description:

HCR is looking for qualified drivers to join our close-knit team. Our guest transport driver is responsible for safely transporting guests to and from river launch sites, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience. You will often times be the first person our guests meet and will set the tone of their adventure with us. We are looking for someone who will not only safely transport our guests, but someone who is warm, friendly and excited to interact with our guests and make them feel welcomed and cared for. This role plays a crucial part in the overall operation of rafting trips, providing excellent customer service and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests the morning of their trip with coffee and drybags.
  • Assist in loading and unloading personal guest gear into bags and transport vehicles.
  • Safely drive company vehicles to transport guests and their gear to various river launch sites and pick-up locations.
  • Expertly drive transport vehicles through winding mountain roads.
  • Answer basic questions surrounding their trip and basic history of the area.
  • Regularly inspect vehicles for safely and maintenance, update vehicle log and promptly report any maintenance needs
  • After drop-off, ensure all vehicles are parked correctly within the marked bays.
  • Maintain clean vehicles involving a routine of daily tidy-ups (trash removal, quick sweeps) and weekly deep cleaning (vacuuming, wiping surfaces, spot cleaning).

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must possess a valid CDL with passenger endorsement.
  • Proven experience driving vehicles in challenging environments, including winding and mountainous terrain.
  • Comfortability driving both a 14-passenger van with a trailer and large 26 passenger busses.
  • Ability to maintain a consistently kind, welcoming, and professional demeanor during all guest interactions.
  • Able to lift 50lbs.
  • Have a clean, well-kept appearance.
  • Flexibility in work hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly.
  • Knowledge of rafting equipment is a plus.
  • Please note: Housing is not provided. All individuals must make their own arrangements for living accommodations.
